Founder and Managing Partner – Clay Dunnagan
Clay founded Anchor Capital in 2008, and serves as the firm’s Managing Partner. His experiences as an entrepreneur, corporate executive and investment professional uniquely qualify him to identify top-performing companies in the American economy for Anchor Capital.
Prior to forming Anchor, Clay held roles at Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R), Trident Financial Corporation, Fletcher Spaght, Inc., VitalSource Technologies, Inc. and Ingram Industries. He has managed over 100 venture capital, private equity and public equity-related investment and strategic situations involving in excess of $1 billion. These situations have included roles in investment banking (initial public offerings, buy and sell-side assignments, management buyouts and corporate divestitures), strategic consulting, and operations, ranging from startup CEO to business development, accounting and finance. His experience spans diverse industries including publishing, transportation and logistics, emerging technology, financial services, distribution, manufacturing and healthcare.
Clay is a graduate of the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School (MBA), North Carolina State University (BS), Brevard College (AA) and Coastal Academy. He is a past President of the North Carolina Museum of Art Foundation Board and Campaign Steering Committee, and is a frequent speaker at family office investment workshops around the country.
